The National Testing Agency (NTA) has scheduled the NEET 2025 exam for May 4, 2025. Before the exam, the city intimation slip will be released by April 26, 2025, allowing candidates to know the city where their exam center is located. The NEET 2025 admit card will be available for download on or before May 1, 2025, through the official NTA website. The initial application window for NEET 2025 was open from February 7 to March 7, 2025.

However, based on trends from previous years, the NTA might reopen the application window in mid-April to accommodate students who were unable to apply earlier, although no official notification regarding this has been issued yet. For NEET 2025, the exam pattern has been revised and restored to the pre-COVID format. The optional questions that were introduced in previous years have been removed, bringing the total number of questions down from 200 to 180.

Consequently, the exam duration has also been reduced from 200 minutes to 180 minutes, and the test will now be held for exactly 3 hours instead of 3 hours 20 minutes. Despite these changes in structure and timing, the marking scheme remains the same as last year. The NEET 2025 result is expected to be declared by June 14, 2025. Although the NTA has not yet confirmed the date for the release of the answer key, it is anticipated that the provisional answer key will be released in the fourth week of May 2025, following the timeline followed in previous years.

NEET UG

NEET UG is a national-level entrance test that is conducted by NTA. It is the single-factor examination for getting admission into:

  • MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)

  • BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)

  • BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), and other AYUSH courses.

The exam has brought about uniformity in testing so that now there will be no more multiple state-level tests.
