NEET 2025 Exam Overview and Key Updates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the NEET UG 2025 exam schedule soon. Based on previous trends, the exam is likely to be conducted on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Application forms for NEET UG 2025 are anticipated to be available by the end of February or the first week of March 2025. Along with the application form release, the NTA is expected to announce the complete exam schedule on its official website.

In 2024, the NEET exam date was declared earlier in September, but this year it is more likely to coincide with the application process announcement, approximately two months before the exam date.

With less than six months remaining, there is growing speculation about changes in the exam format. Although the mode of the exam may shift to computer-based testing (CBT), no official confirmation has been issued by the Ministry of Education or the NTA. Aspirants are requesting clarity on the exam date and pattern to alleviate their concerns.

Potential Changes in NEET UG 2025

The NEET UG 2025 process may see several modifications due to recommendations from an expert committee formed after the 2024 paper leak incident. This seven-member panel, led by former ISRO chief Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, was tasked with improving the exam's security and fairness. The committee has submitted its report to the Ministry of Education, proposing the following reforms:

  • Change in Exam Mode: Adoption of a hybrid or computer-based format.
  • Changes in Eligibility Criteria: Possible age restrictions or limits on the number of attempts.
  • Reduction in Malpractices: Enhanced security measures to prevent paper leaks and irregularities.

Aspirants are encouraged to keep an eye on official notifications for updates about any changes to the exam pattern, eligibility criteria, or other key details.
