SBI PO exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility requirements to apply for the SBI (Probationary Officer) Exam:

1. Educational Qualification

  • Final-year students can also apply, provided they can produce proof of graduation at the time of the interview.

  • Candidates with dual degrees should ensure that the date of passing is on or before the eligibility date mentioned in the official notification.

2. Age Limit

The candidate’s age must be between 21 and 30 years as of the specified date in the official notification.

Age Relaxation: The following relaxations apply for reserved categories:

  • SC/ST: 5 years (Upper age limit: 35 years)

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years (Upper age limit: 33 years)

PwD (Persons with Disabilities):

  • General/EWS - 10 years

  • OBC - 13 years

  • SC/ST - 15 years

Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers, and ECOs/SSCOs: 5 years

Persons domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir (January 1, 1980 - December 31, 1989): 5 years

3. Nationality

  • Indian Citizen

  • Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan

  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanent settlement in India, provided they hold a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
