Departments:

It achieves this by providing museums attached to each department. The Garden is 2 acres consisting of more than 1500 plants and more than 500 species that are being stored and protected. 

The departments at Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College are mentioned below:

1. Department of Basic Principles / Samhita Siddhanta / Sanskrit: Samhita Sidhanta is considered the foundational text of Sanskrit. It deals with principles and theories that are formed in order to help in the research of Ayurvedic treatment. They are considered very significant and profound in the domain of Ayurveda.

2. Department of Shareera Kriya: In order to understand the function of this department we need to delve into the concept of physiological processes and the function of a live organism body. It can be described as the process pertaining to the very functions and methods of living organisms and their parts. This Department of Shareera Kriya is a branch of Ayurveda that helps to explore bodily function and their corresponding health requirements 

3. Shareera Rachana: The word Shareera means Body and Rachana means creation. This department of Atreya Ayurvedic College helps to understand the factors of human life creation.

4. Department of Dravyaguna: The Dravyaguna is a much broader aspect of Ayurveda. It has various aspects featuring substances such as Rasa, Guna, Virya, Vipaka, Prabhava, and Karma meaning Taste, Properties, Potency, Metabolism, Specific Action, and Action. 

As the aspects suggest this department contains the necessary steps that are required to be taken to help in Ayurveda Research and remedies. It is also considered as the counterpart to modern pharmacology.

5. Department of Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana: This Department deals with the process of preparing and formulating the medicine. The methodology of this is described as the constant development in the domain of Ayurvedic medicine by performing various experiments and quality tests.

6. Department of Roga Nidhan and Vikruti Vijnana: The Word Roga means illness or disease and Nidhan means death or demise. The Department delves into the diagnosis of diseases through Ayurvedic means. Another aspect of this department is Vikruti Vijanana meaning the process of analyzing the chronological changes of the human body. They both are very integral to ayurvedic treatment or science. 

7. Department of Swasthavritta: As the old saying goes “Prevention is better than cure”. We see that the Department of Swasthavritta is focusing on prevention techniques and methods in the field of Ayurveda. 

8. Department of Agada Tantra: Toxicology, A multi-disciplinary subject that deals with the question of “How to deal with and eradicate exposures to toxins that are caused by various plants, animals, and other artificial toxins.

9. Department of Prasooti Tantra and Stri Roga: The departments study various aspects like Prasooti Tantra meaning some system or set of techniques that are utilized in the process of childbirth. Another aspect of this department would be Stri Roga meaning illness related to women. It deals with the medicine and prevention related to it.

10. Department Of Kaumara Brithya: The nourishment of newborns and the prevention of various child-related illnesses both physical and mental.
