To be eligible for MBBS admission at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, c&idates must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: The c&idate must have completed the 10+2 (Pre-University or equivalent) examination from a recognized board. The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, & Biology as core subjects in the qualifying examination.

  • Minimum Marks: The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination (10+2). However, for c&idates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, a relaxation of 5% is provided, i.e., a minimum of 40% aggregate marks is required.

  • Age Criteria: The c&idate must have completed 17 years of age as of December 31st of the year of admission. C&idates who are younger than this will not be eligible for admission.

  • NEET Qualification: C&idates must qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). NEET is a mandatory entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India.

Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences Admission Process for MBBS

The admission process for the MBBS program at KIMS follows a structured procedure:

  • Step 1 – NEET Exam: The first step in the admission process is to appear for the NEET-UG exam, which is held annually. The NEET exam is a nationwide entrance exam that evaluates candidates on subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, & Biology. Seat Distribution & Fees for MBBS

The total number of MBBS seats available at KIMS is 150. These seats are divided into different categories as follows:

  • Government Quota (60 seats): These seats are allotted by the Government of Karnataka based on NEET ranks & are available at a subsidized fee structure.
