Government Quota Cut-off

In 2023, the government quota seat cutoff reflected different categories that have their closing ranks and marks differently. In GM, there was a closing rank of 50,176 and 568 marks. Among the top scorers, the number of candidates vying for a seat is enormous. Other significant categories were;

  • 1K Closing rank- 130,584 and 479 marks

  • 1R Closing rank-90,622 with 519 marks

  • 2AG Closing rank- 74,733, and 537 marks.

  • 2AK: Closes with rank 99,800 with 509 marks

  • 3AR: Closes with rank 70,567 with 542 marks

  • STK: Closing rank of 238,100 with 395 marks which is a relatively low cutoff for Scheduled Tribes. This shows how tough it is to secure admissions; the higher marks.

Private Quota Cut-off

For the private quota, cut-off scores were competitive but on a different trend. General Merit Private GMP required 513 marks with a closing rank of 95,806. Other categories include;

GMPH:

The closing rank was 102,599 with 506 marks.

NRI:

Score significantly lower at 126 with the closing rank of 1,078,843, this quota is less competitive compared to others

OPN:

Required 595 marks with a closing rank of 32,314, which shows an enormous competition among open category aspirants.

Implications and Trends:

Cut-off trends show that the college is pulling students from a very heterogeneous group of applicants.

There is an enormous variation in marks across categories. The fact that the marks required for the GM category are quite high reflects the demand for medical education in India. Students aspiring to join medical college have to get exceptional scores in NEET to secure admission.
